30 Cats

Cat momma

By HSSF

One of our first cases in 2011 was that of over 50 cats living in a 1500 square feet indoor area. We received a call from a woman who was pet sitting because one of the two owners was going to be away for an extended period of time. She was asked to take care of the cats and to help the homeowner find homes for about 20-25 of them.

So she telephoned us and she got nearly 30 of the cats released to her. We brought the cats over to FieldHaven Feline Rescue in Lincoln and had our veterinarian do an exam and vaccinate them. Then we put them up for adoption and found homes for them. We even enlisted the help from Marin Humane, so this was an assist with a surrender.
